In an unprecedented move, Saudi Arabia has disclosed its participation in a joint military operation aimed at thwarting an Iranian retaliation on Israel. The announcement, made via the royal family’s website, sheds light on the kingdom’s involvement in the defense of its regional ally.

The operation, which included Israel, the United States, Jordan, the United Kingdom, and France, repelled an Iranian attack early Sunday morning. According to reports cited by Saudi sources, 99% of the Iranian drones and missiles were neutralized before reaching their intended targets. However Iranian sources claim that the missiles hit Israel’s strategic locations deep inside, including military bases.

Notably, the intercepted drones and missiles traversed Jordanian and Saudi airspace en route to Israel, highlighting the collaborative efforts of the involved nations in safeguarding Israel against Iranian retaliation.

While Jordan had previously acknowledged its role in the operation, Saudi Arabia had remained discreet until the recent disclosure on its royal family’s website.
